Roing, Aug 12: The ‘Circle Saturation Strategy’ for 100% coverage of COVID 19 vaccination was launched in Lower Dibang Valley district today by MLA Gum Tayeng, in the presence of ADC(Dambuk) Sibo Passing, DMO Dr. R. Tatan at the District Hospital.
Tayeng, appreciated the hard work put in by the healthcare workers and frontline workers in controlling the pandemic in the district and stated that the next step is working towards achieving cent percent COVID 19 vaccination in the district. She said that misinformation has created vaccination hesitancy and anti vaccination mindset amongst some people in the villages and so their misconceptions should be cleared through door to door awareness creation.
Only the collective efforts of Medical Officers, Administrative Officers, PRI members, health care workers, public leaders and the public will see our district achieve the target of full vaccination, she added.
ADC Dambuk Sibo Passing appreciated the excellent work done by ASHA workers during the pandemic in monitoring home isolation cases and in persuading the people to get vaccinated and so requested the authorities to provide extra incentives for the ASHA workers.
DMO Dr. R. Tatan informed about the aim of the programme being to achieve cent percent vaccination in the district before the onset of the third wave of COVID 19. Dr. L. C. Deori (DSO) IDSP presented the COVID 19 status of the district and informed that a total 26102 tests have been conducted from 1st April to 11th August this year with 1660 people testing positive and 9 deaths occurring till date.
Dr. Raju Mena (DRCHO) informed that 29036 (82.86%) people have been vaccinated with the 1st dose and 7994 (23%) people have been fully vaccinated in the district. DIPRO
