ROING, Aug13:
An inaugural function for distribution of livestock (Milch cows) under the Chief Minister's White Revolution Scheme was organised on Wednesday by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development, Lower Dibang Valley district at the Veterinary Complex, Roing.
Lower Dibang Valley district is the first district to implement the Chief Minister's White Revolution Scheme. Five beneficiaries were handed over 3 milch cows with calves and 2 heifers each in the first batch of distribution from 115 beneficiaries for dairy subsidy and four dairy entrepreneurs. The cattle were selected through a lottery and handed over to the first five beneficiaries who completed their shed construction.
Handing over the cattle to the beneficiaries, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman, DDDC Board, Mitali Namchoom advised all to take proper care of the cattle and augment their income through the sale of milk. She also advised them to increase the production of milk and look into the production of clarified butter (ghee), cottage cheese (paneer), curd(dahi) and other milk products in the district itself.
