PASIGHAT, Feb 5: Minister for PHE & WS, DoTCL, IT etc Wangki Lowang on Friday inaugurated a water project at Ledum village in presence of Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, legislators Ninong Ering, Kaling Moyong, PHED Secretary Rinchin Tashi, Chief Engineer (E/Z) Tomo Basar, host leaders, officers and villagers.  
The project with a capacity of 18,000 ltrs costing Rs. 123.86 lakhs sources the waters of the Dekam stream. Work began in October, 2019 and the project will provide drinking water to 384 residents of 61 households of Bording and Lenssing Tea Estate areas. 
The state government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Pema Khandu has accorded top priority to providing access to safe piped drinking water for all under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) envisioned by the Prime Minister, Lowang said.
Earlier this morning, the Minister accompanied by the Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong and engineers had visited the sites and took stock of development of Sirpo Water Project (under NLCPR) and Takilalung Water Supply Scheme (under JJM).
Pasighat West MLA, Ninong Ering apprised the visiting minister that the head work was badly damaged last year due to devastating flood and needed urgent attention for renovation and maintenance. He urged the minister to provide 50 lakhs to carryout restoration work so that work could be done before the onset of monsoon thus ensuring safe drinking water for the inhabitants of Pasighat West constituency.
