PASIGHAT, Oct 30: To enable active women participation and representation in urban local bodies of state and the Pasighat Municipal Council, the East Siang district administration conducted draw of lots today.
Following the lottery, out of the eight wards under the Pasighat Municipal Councils, three wards— 2, 3 & 6, were selected for women’s reservation in the ensuing PMC polls.
The draw was held under the chairmanship of East Siang Deputy Commissioner cum Municipal Election Officer, Sonalika Jiwani, IAS, and Members comprising of Incharge MEO , Dr. Manjuli Komut, DD RD Tatling Pertin, AC (Municipal ) Yamo Tamut.
The draw was witnessed by representatives of political parties among others.
