TEZU, Mar 1: Lohit Youth Library Network (LYLN) observed its 14th Annual Day here at the Bamboosa Library on February 28 last with a call to the youths for inculcating the habit of reading.
Attending the celebrations, Chief Manager, SBI Tezu Mithu Chakraborty while addressing the senior reader-activists and volunteers of LYLN after giving away the Annual Library Awards exhorted them to reach out to the less fortunate youths and aid them in discovering the joy of reading. Lauding the Library Administrator, Bapenlu Kri for offering a free online study centre and reading room facilities at Bamboosa Library for higher secondary and college students from the remote areas of Lohit, she assured all support from SBI in promoting library activities in the district. Conveying his wishes from the state capital, Commissioner, Finance and the library’s Founder Patron Prashant Lokande expressed satisfaction over the march of the youth library movement. Senior library activists Jeenamsi Ngadong and Solina Kambrai, Mentor, Dibang Youth Library, Roing Santosh Chetry, Mentor, APNE Library Wakro Manisha Halai were among others who spoke on the occasion. 
Awards under the categories of ‘Bhajan Award’ for outstanding library activists, ‘Ranganatha Award’ for best library services and ‘Sister Nivedita Award’ for dedicated library services were handed over to the recipients.
To mark the National Science Day, the awardees were also presented with Foldcope, a paper microscope developed by Dr Manu Prakash, the famous scientist from Stanford University, USA.
