TEZU/NAMSAI, Dec 11:  The SPs  of  Lohit  and Namsai districts have informed that preparations for ensuring air-tight security for the forthcoming PR polls are in full swing.
Lohit SP AK Singh today took stock of the security preparedness of the district for the upcoming PR elections. While informing that all preparations are being made, the SP said that  Static Surveillance Team (SST) has been deployed at the hyper-sensitive areas of the township and constant patrolling is on to ensure law and order. “Hyper-sensitive and sensitive areas have been identified and accordingly the forces will be deployed. We have also increased the forces at the Digaru tri-junction check gate and heightened vigilance. At the same time an additional one company of CRPF has been engaged to thwart any untoward incident,” SP detailed. 
In Namsai district, over 38033 voters will decide the fate of 577 GPMs seats and 5 ZPM seats. Chowkham ZPM already got elected unopposed and contests will be held in 4 ZPM Blocks. Overall, there will be 116 polling stations for the forthcoming polls in the district. Briefing over the security arrangements in Namsai, SP Dr DW Thongon  categorized the zones as hyper-sensitive, sensitive and normal. “Being one of the populated districts in Arunachal, it is tough to manage with limited forces. Still then we are optimistic to cope up with the situation. Static Surveillance Team, Video Surveillance Team, Nakas at the three police stations including Namsai, Mahadevpur and Chowkham have been set up to monitor vehicular movement which will be changed according to the requirement of the situation,” the SP said. 
Highlighting the shortage of police forces, he has already sent intimation to the headquarters in the state capital.  “District police are well-prepared for the forthcoming election and working in a coordinated manner with the District Administration to ensure a free and fair election,” SP assured.
