TEZU, Oct 29: Lamingsi Kri of Tezu has brought laurels for her district and the state by emerging as the first Arunachalee student to join the prestigious All India Institute of Speech & Hearing (AIISH), Mysore, the country’s premier institution for education and advanced research in speech and hearing therapy.
Securing the 5th spot of the merit list in the All India ST category, Lamingsi will join the undergraduate BASLP course in Speech & Hearing. She is the daughter of Sokhep Kri, the Director, State Gazetteers and the Convener of the Lohit Youth Library Network, which has been instrumental in motivating the educationally deprived rural girl students and the youths of the district to strive for better educational achievements.
It is heartening to note that one more Arunachalee girl student, Ngilang Nanya from the state capital has also got admission at AIISH Mysore this year.
