TEZU, Apr 25: In the wake of the COVID-19 second wave, the Lohit district administration has brought in place several directives to be strictly adhered by the public.
Deputy Commissioner Marge Sora issued an order to immediately close down all education institution including coaching centers and hostels. The summer vacation of all the school in the state is rescheduled from 26th April to 31st May 2021.  To prevent outbreak and spread of COVID-19, the District Administration has strictly directed the business establishments to wear mask and avoid selling goods to customers who failed to wear mask. Petrol Pump, Kerosene Depot, LPG, FCI should adhere to similar guidelines too, adds the DA.
Simultaneously, the District Administration has also rescheduled fresh operating system of market that is will be opened at 8 AM and closed at 6 PM. However Pharmacies and Medical stores will operate as usual. APMC market complex business time period has been fixed from 8 AM to 8 PM, however same will be reviewed according to situations.    Any person violating these containment measures will be liable to be prosecuted as per provision of section 51 & 60 of the Disaster Management Act – 2005 besides legal action under section 188 IPC.

Meanwhile, the Lohit district reported 13 numbers of COVID 19 positive cases including 4 from the armed force and rest are returnees, informed District Surveillance Officer Lohit, S Towang.
