TEZU, Apr 10: In the wake of the second COVID wave about to engulf the entire country including neighbouring Assam, DC-cum-District Magistrate, Lohit Marge Sora has issued an order alerting the district’s people to follow all safety protocols.
While stating that with enthusiastic support from the Health & Family Welfare Department, Police, NGOs and other stakeholders the District Administration has been working at the ground level to contain the second wave, through the order the DM has appealed to the citizens to abide by all SOPs such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing etc. The order has also clearly stated that legal actions under sections 51 and 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, Arunachal Pradesh Epidemic Diseases (Prevention of COVID-19) Regulations 2020, section 188 of the IPC as well as other relevant sections of the Epidemic Diseases Act and other laws in force will be made applicable for the violators. District Surveillance Officer Dr S Towang has informed that a 25th BN ITBP jawan has tested COVID positive through Rapid Antigen Test and another patient from Roing who was detected positive has been handed over to the Lower Dibang Valley district authority.  
According to the April 9 State Covid Bulletin, Lower Dibang Valley has recorded the highest number of cases in Arunachal Pradesh with 12 currently active.
