KHARSANG, Aug 13: Villagers of Nongtham Village of Kharsang under Changlang district renovated and filled the potholes of 3km road between Nogtham and Kharsang. The social service was organized by the Nogtham Youth Association to commemorate the ensuing Independence Day.
‘We organize such mass social service twice in a year where youths and villagers jointly participate and make the village clean and hygienic. In 2018, we also received award for being one of the cleanest village under Swachh Bharat Mission,’ informed President Nogtham Youth Association Mathew Khilak.
At least 9km long road between Nongtham and Kharsang is in dilapidated condition riddled with potholes, so we have decided to renovate it voluntarily, he added.
“During this pandemic, we cannot totally depend on government department to renovate it, so the youth and villagers contributed voluntarily."
