TAWANG, Aug 8: As a part of the weeklong behavioural change campaign ‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat’ to be conducted from August 8-15, Deputy Commissioner Tawang Sang Phuntsok on Saturday addressed the Gaon Burahs and villagers of the district through live web cast under the E-ratri Chaupal programme.
240 villages participated in the live web address. The DC while recalling that Tawang was adjudged the first Open Defecation Free district in 2018, exhorted the villagers to maintain the level of cleanliness. He requested them to collect all Single Use Plastic (SUP) items and hand over to the PHE Department, carry out plantation drives for which saplings will be provided by the Forest and PHE departments and also conduct essay competitions, IEC programmes etc. to create awareness.
