NAHARLAGUN, Oct 25: Minister Health & Family Welfare, Alo Libang today launched the official website of Arunachal Pradesh Nursing Council (APNC) and inaugurated the Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) programme on the topic ‘Prevention & Control of Hospital Associated Infection’ here at a city hotel in presence of Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso.
“If we fail to provide good health service delivery system to a population like our state which is equal to an assembly constituency in other states, then it is our inadequacy,” stated Libang who was also the Chief Guest at the programme. Underlining the pivotal role played by the nursing community, he said that without them health service won't be possible and sought their cooperation, reiterating that state government is giving priority to education and health sectors. Further, the Minister stressed on upgrading the service delivery mechanism in the already established hospitals, PHCs etc rather than constructing new ones.
Meanwhile, local MLA Kaso said that the website will facilitate people with needful information and urged the nurses to continue serve the public with compassion. An overview of Arunachal Pradesh Nursing Council, its status, works, manpower, major activities undertaken since 2012 etc were shown through a Power Point Presentation by the Deputy Director Nursing cum Registrar Kijum Karga. She also brought to the knowledge of the Minister the need for infrastructure and creation of posts under APNC which will help in its smooth functioning. Karga said that now one can log on toapnc.nic.in and get any information related to nursing students, nurses, nursing institutes etc. Speaking about ‘Continuing Nursing Education’ (CNE), she said it is a step to upgrade the knowledge of trained nurses who are in currently in service. She further informed that there will be ten batches consisting of thirty members per batch who will be imparted training consecutively.
Principal, Arunachal State Nursing School (ASNS), Naharlagun Boa Yania Taw and Tutor, ASNS, Ugu Libang Padi spoke on the occasion. Among others, Trained Nurse Association of India Arunachal Unit President, K T Yasung, Director of Health Services, Dr M Lego, Additional SIO NIC Jyotish Roy, President APWWSGumri Ringu and host of dignitaries were present on the occasion.
