DOIMUKH, Sep 24: One-day Legal Awareness Programme was organized today by Friends For Life (FFL)  NGO in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for  Women (APSCW) and Women Cell Government College Doimukh at  Government College Doimukh.
Addressing the gathering, Chairperson APSCW Radhilu Chai (Techi) stressed that Women Empowerment is not possible without economic empowerment.  "Women cannot be empowered in the real sense if she cannot acquire and hold any immovable property in her own name," she said. Attending the programme as a resource person, Assistant Professor, AITS Zilpha Modi,  dwelt on the topic “Gender Equality & Gender Budgeting”. Whereas,  Hunmai Techi, Member APSCW gave a speech on “Domestic Violence & Polygamy” . Further,  Adv. Karmu Chotton, Legal Advisor APSCW, elaborated on the topic “Property Right in context of Arunachal Pradesh” explaining the different property rights of the various tribes.
