ITANAGAR, Dec 4: A one-day legal awareness programme covering topics such as crimes against women, mental health, domestic violence, blood donation and drug abuse was jointly organized today at Government Higher Secondary School, Kankernallah by the Friends for Life (FFL) and Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW). 
APSCW Member Techi Hunmai briefed on the powers and functions of the Commission and spoke on domestic violence. APSCW Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi deliberated on the spike in crimes against women in the state and country. DSP Papum Pare Dekio Gumja while encouraging the students to work hard, shared suggestions on the pressing issue of crimes against women. Clinical Psychologist Nabam Yeni explained to the students on how to look for signs of anxiety, depression and suicidal tendencies and the way-out. Chairman, AVBDO Ramesh Jeke explained the need of blood donors in Arunachal. Chairman DFA Nabam Sarbang appealed to the students to say no to drugs.
