RONO HILLS, Mar 18: A 3-day lecture series on ‘Nation, Icons and Peace’ organised by the International Centre for Gandhian and Peace Studies (ICGPS), Department of History, Rajiv Gandhi University in collaboration with Gandhi King Foundation (GKF), Hyderabad and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), NER-RGU campus commenced today here at the Conference Hall of the Department of CSE.
In his presidential address RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha stressed on the relevance of Gandhian ideas in day-to-day life.  Pro VC Professor Amitava Mitra threw light on the ideas of self-sufficiency and ‘Vocal for Local’ championed by the Mahatma. Convener and coordinator, ICGPS Professor S N Singh, writer, columnist and senior journalist Narendra Bhadauria, Managing Trustee and Secretary, GKF, Hyderabad Professor Gollanpalli Prasad spoke on Gandhian principles and their significance.
As part of the event, a painting competition with the theme ‘Life of Gandhi’ was organised at the Government Secondary School located in the varsity campus. RGU PR
