ROING, Jul 1: A meeting to discuss the critical issue of protection of child rights in Lower Dibang Valley district was convened today here in the headquarters, participated by Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) member Ngurang Achung, Deputy Commissioner K. N. Damo, SP J. K. Lego and various stakeholders.
Representatives from Child Welfare Committee (CWC), JJB, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), CCI and  Childline, Roing took  part in the meeting that assumed importance following the Roing rape episode. The APSCPCR member, while stating that violation of child rights is always a serious issue, enjoined all to work in tandem to solve such cases. He urged the CWC, DCPU, DLSA, CCI and Childline, Roing to cooperate, consult and work in a committed manner keeping the best interest of the child at heart.  
While the DC advised the stakeholders to take their responsibilities seriously, the SP urged the stakeholder committees to work together to make the cases binding since the courts will invariably consider material evidence only and not emotional pleas. DIPRO
