Itanagar, Sep 25: In view of the rising number of Covid cases in the state capital, the ICR DA has declared a number of areas in several sectors as containment zones and intensified checking drive for strict enforcement of the SOPs.
The locations marked as containment zones are DCoy/ E Coy areas from Gate-I to Gate-II along with National Highway within the boundary of Dolikoto village and DFO colony Banderdewa, C sector near Chief Secretary’s Quarter and Upper part of All India Radio, Satellite Colony and near Shiv Mandir Colony, Gandhi market sector near BSNL and surrounding areas, C- Sector Nangkar building and surrounding areas, C- sector areas surrounding of Yasso Building and Industry office, backside of GHSS and AAPSU office in ESS sector and Vivek Vihar and all areas behind the Arunodaya School. Under the containment zone rules no entry/exit will be permitted in the said locations/buildings without authorization and the entry/exit points shall be barricaded/cordoned off by police. The inmates shall not move out from the locations/ buildings for a period of 14 days i.e. till October 7 and no unauthorized persons shall be allowed to enter or exit without prior approval from DM/DMO/DSO. The movement of people for supply of essential items and other emergency services shall be regulated by the police/security guards. DMO shall deploy staff to oversee the immediate medical needs of the inmates of the said areas/buildings and also for thermal scanning etc.The essential items required by inmates shall be provided by coordinating with shopkeepers/Home Delivery Firms by the EAC, Itanagar/CO Banderdewa in coordination with police and health workers by following the SOPs. It has also been decided that DMO/DSO shall carry out antigen/RT-PCR/Truenat testing of all inmates along with other follow-up actions. Sanitization of the said areas/buildings shall also be carried out as and when required by the IMC and no public gathering will be allowed. As a part of the ongoing checking drive, a total of 72 persons were imposed with a fine of Rs 500 each by police for not wearing masks at various areas in Itanagar and Naharlagun on Friday. A day earlier also, more than 100 violators were caught and challaned for not wearing masks and spitting in public.
ICR Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom informed that the drive would continue till the denizens learn to abide by the rules. He has also requested all denizens to cooperate with the administration by observing the SOPs diligently.
Meanwhile, the state recorded 253 fresh covid cases on Friday with the Itanagar Capital Complex recording the highest 116 cases. DIPRO
