BOMDILA, Jun 5: In a tragic accident that took place today at KM 77.200 on BCT road near Saddle, Nechiphu at around 0930 hrs, two persons lost their lives and two were critically injured.
As per preliminary report, the cause of the accident was a massive landslide triggered by incessant rain, coupled with poor visibility. An Alto K10 car carrying five persons including the driver was buried under the debris. The car driver one Mr Motu from Bomdila died on the spot and ASI T K. Sonar from Bomdila Police along with his wife and two children were evacuated to 181 M.H. Dahung, where his wife expired unfortunately. Sonar and his daughter were seriously injured and referred to Tezpur in critical condition. Fortunately, his son escaped unhurt. A HC of PS Bhalukpong also received minor injuries by the shooting stone on the same stretch, informed the OC, PS Bhalukpong.
Incessant rain has made the BCT road at KM 77.500 prone to accidents. 
A huge tree collapsed on the school building of GPS Mellonkong (Sapper camp), Dirang on Friday causing severe damages. On May 27 last at Gachham on OKSRT road, three vehicles were damaged due to collapse of a  retaining wall. DIPRO
