DOLLUNGMUKH, Feb 10:  Assam Forest officials have once again been alleged of encroaching land in Arunachal Pradesh, this time in Dollungmukh in Kamle district.
As per the villagers, on February 3 last, forest officials of the neighbouring state along with paramilitary forces entered inside the Arunachal boundary in Dollungmukh with men & machines.
Speaking to media,  a villager informed that Assam forest officials entered into the said location and had developed the land for their use as a Forest or Battalion camp. However, villagers were quick to inform the happenings to the concerned authority, he added. Assam is violating the Supreme Court Order on maintaining the status quo, claimed the villagers, while informing that people of Assam living in the boundary areas maintain cordial relation with their Arunachalee counterparts and there is hardly any citizen-to citizen dispute and it is the government officials who are routine creators of disturbances inside the state boundary.
Condemning the incident, Head Gaon Bura Taba Murtem appealed the state government to create a Battalion headquarters or Police Training Centre in the area to avoid such repeated encroachments. This is a clear-cut violation of the Supreme Court Order, said the Vice President of All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) Temi Pabo.
Team of ANYA after rushing to the spot to verify the veracity of the allegations also found them to be true, added the Vice President. He further stated that this incident is not the first one of its kind executed by the Assam government departments and it has been their old tactics of land encroachment. Pabo has requested the state government to take some serious measures about the repeated violation of the apex court’s order and do the needful.
When contacted, local MLA Tarin Dakpe has assured the denizens to speak with the Assam counterpart and apprise the situation to the state government also. “I have visited the place and found that yes, Assam counterpart is violating the direction of the SC,” said the MLA while informing that he will soon meet the concern MLA of Assam and inform him about the situation. “We can amicably solve the issue without creating any law & order problem that may hamper cordial relationship between the two states,” asserted Dakpe.
Meanwhile, responding to the query, Deputy Commissioner Kamle district Moki Loyi said he will soon meet the DC Lakhimpur to discuss about the matter. “I have also instructed the SDO Dollungkumkh to find out the actual people involved in the incident,” DC added.  He further informed that he had already apprised the situation to the higher authority in Itanagar.
