TAWANG, Mar 12: KVK Tawang today convened its Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting for the 2021-22 FY here at the Zomkhang Hall chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Tawang Sang Phuntsok.
Scientists from NRC Yak, Dirang, District Heads of Agriculture and allied departments, NGO representatives, farmers from various villages of the district attended the meeting. Concerned Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) of KVK Tawang presented the 2020-21 Annual Report and the Annual Action Plan to be adopted during 2021-22. The committee members emphasized on taking up more income generating activities for the welfare of the farming community in the district. Principal scientist, NRC Yak, Dirang Dr. B. Paul opined for adopting an integrated farming approach with collaboration from the KVK, Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and other departments. 
The DC appealed to the KVK scientists to introduce new technologies on mushroom cultivation, sericulture, beekeeping, yak and mithun rearing, dairy farming etc. Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Tawang Dr. AN Tripathi also spoke on the occasion.
