KANUBARI, Mar 30: KVK Longding organised a training programme on ‘Scientific land preparation for conservation of soil fertility in Jhumland-cum-awareness programme on the activities of KVK’ followed by distribution of seeds under NEH component at the Ranglua Russa Common Facility Centre on March 27 last.
I/c Sr. Scientist and Head, KVK Longding A. Kirankumar Singh highlighted the activities carried out by the KVK for the welfare of the district’s farmers and imparted training on the above topic. While discussing the adverse effects of jhum cultivation he suggested various methods of land preparation, soil management, crops to be grown and ideal cropping pattern. The farmers were informed about the ill-effects of burning organic matters and proper use of weedicides. Seeds of vegetables like chilli, brinjal, bhindi, cucumber, ridge gourd, tomato etc. were distributed among the participating farmers.
