KANUBARI, Feb 13: KVK Longding organised a training programme on Scientific Land Preparation for Soil Fertility Conservation in Jhum Land’ and an awareness programme on the activities of the KVK in Chanu Village under Chubam Circle on February 12 last.

 

In-Charge Head Dr A. Kirankumar Singh detailed the activities of the KVK with special reference to Longding district. Dr Tilling Tayo, SMS (Animal Science) highlighted the activities which can be taken up under the discipline of Animal Science for the welfare of farmers. Dr Singh while imparting the training which is of prime importance in the district for conserving soil fertility stressed on the importance of conservation of organic biomass deposited in Jhum lands and the micro-organisms which are damaged during slash and burn process and the ill effects of soil erosion.

 

Vegetable seeds under NEH Component were distributed to all the 64 farmers who participated in the training.
