Itanagar, Nov 22: The 8th State Level Sanctioning & Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) meeting on Prime Minister Awas Yojana (Urban) was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar at Civil Secretariat, today. PCCF R. K. Singh, Commissioner PWD Kaling Tayeng, Secretary UD Mithali Namchoom, Special Secretary UD Sachin Rana and others were present in the meeting.
Reviewing the PMAY (Urban), the Chief Secretary took stock of the physical and financial progress of the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) and Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS).
The physical achievement of the PMAY is 69% with a total number of 2364 houses completed as against sanctioned 5688 dwelling units.
Urban Development and Housing Department which is Nodal Agency for PMAY (Urban) has been asked to expedite the works and ensure completion of the remaining Dwelling Units on or before 2022.
On the report of the very low percentage of Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme in the State, the Chief Secretary felt the necessity of educating the people on housing loans through camps in Towns by Bankers. Therefore, he directed the Bankers to conduct financial programmes in the Districts on housing loans etc. Financial Awareness camps may be set up by the Banks in the DC Office for government officers and employees, suggested the Chief Secretary.
The House approved new DPRs for a total 2569 beneficiaries under the Beneficiary Led Construction.
