ZIRO, Feb 11: As a part of the Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare’s drive to saturate all eligible farmers of the country under KCC which has commenced from February 10 and will continue till  24th, a meeting of District Level Bankers Committee and Agriculture Department was convened today by Lead District Manager (LDM) at Hapoli.
The aim of the meeting was to brief the stakeholders about the KCC saturation drive and the schedule for camps to be organised at the bank branches for this purpose. DDM, NABARD, Lower Subansiri M.K. Lowang coordinated the meeting and explained in detail about the special drive to facilitate universal access to concessional institutional credit for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries with KCC in a Mission Mode with a view to ensure coverage of maximum number of such farmers during these 15-day special drive.
Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW), Gol has launched PM-KISAN, an income support scheme for all land holder farmer families in the country. Under this scheme, vulnerable landholding farmer families, having cultivable land up to 2 hectares, will be provided direct income support at the rate of Rs.6,000 per year. More than 9.7 crore farmer families have been registered on the PM-KISAN portal and the benefit of income support has been transferred to nearly 8.4 crore farmers. Since banks already have most of the information of the PM-KISAN beneficiaries, they can be easily and quickly provided KCC benefit to eligible PM-KISAN beneficiaries by submitting a copy of the land record and details of crops sown.
During this drive, all PM-KISAN beneficiaries from that branch will be requested to approach the bank branch where they have PM-KISAN Account for availing benefit of KCC for accessing concessional Institutional Credit. Bank branches of all banks are being requested to prepare a list of all PM-KISAN beneficiaries who do not have KCC and share with government functionaries, line departments, GBs and  Bank Sakhis, who will go in the field to motivate such farmers for coming to the bank branch with copies of land record and filling up the one page form for issue of KCC. Special camps will be organised at the bank branches for this purpose. SMS have been sent to all the PM-KISAN beneficiaries through PM-KISAN portal for contacting their concerned bank branch for getting benefit of KCC for accessing concessional institutional credit.

Active involvement of the District Administration and the Agriculture Department was sought by facilitating issue of copies of Land Record documents to the farmers beneficiaries to ensure hassle free sanction of KCC limit by the bank branches. DIPRO
