ITANAGAR, Jul 12: Giving his reaction on the Kimin fiasco, former Lok Sabha Member (West) Takam Sanjoy took a dig at the Centre and termed the incident as "Himalayan mistake".
Expressing concern,  the former MP said that the Kimin fiasco is an intentional act of the Government of India in connivance with the governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, reminding also that the incident was carried out in physical presence of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, then Union MoS Sports Kiren Rijiju, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sharma.
Sanjoy further demanded that the state government should pay compensation to all the landowners of Kimin who donated their land for the establishment of Assam Rifles Battalion in line with the  land acquisition  pattern carried out in Tawang, West Kameng and other areas of Arunachal.
“The land compensation should be billed in the names of the local people of Kimin. Then only we will get into the other demands and enquire into the criminal connivance part of it,” Sanjoy said.
“Remember, if the 1962 conflict is considered a 'Himalayan blunder' then the Kimin-Bilgarh episode is a ‘Himalayan mistake’ since it was intentional and pre-conceived. It is against the very essence and existence of every Arunachalees, the voice of which will never stop until the truth is unearthed,” the former MP added.
