KHONSA, Apr 5: Mopin was celebrated here in the Tirap district headquarters today with great enthusiasm wherein DC Taro Mize was the Chief Guest.
Participating in the festival, the DC wished the Galo community for a bumper harvest and prosperous life in the years to come. Chief Adviser, Mopin Gidi Festival Committee, Khonsa and SP Tirap Kardak Riba extended greetings to all the invitees that included ZPC Chathong Lowang, CO 6 AR Nyasson Sawin, ZPMs and others. In his welcome address, President, Mopin Gidi Celebration Committee Er. D. Basar highlighted the celebration of Mopin Gidi organised by the Galos across the state. The mythology of Mopin Gidi was read out by DDSE Hortum Loyi followed by Mopin Gidi dances.
ADC Kretkam Tikhak, District & Sessions Judge H. Kashyap, DSP Khewang Khetey were among others who participated in the celebrations. DIPRO
