Tezu, Feb 7: Khelo Bharat Tezu Unit, under the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), successfully hosted the Nagar Khel Kumbh, a four-day sports event (Traditional Games, Track and fields and, Team Games), from February 4-7, at the IGG College Ground in Tezu.
This event was part of the larger Khelo Bharat initiative, which aims to promote a drug-free lifestyle and encourage youth to adopt sports as a positive alternative, guided by the motto "Drugs Choro - Khel Mei Jodo" (Leave Drugs, Join Sports).
The valedictory function was attended by Er. Lupalum Kri, Social Activist and Retired Chief Engineer PHE & WS, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Kangki Megu, Principal of IGG College Tezu, as the Guest of Honour. Other notable attendees included Dr. Rajen Miwu, State President of ABVP, and Khoshan Khamblai, State Co-Convenor of Khelo Bharat,Jelai Wangnaw, Vibhag Organising Secretary ABVP.
The four-day event featured a range of exciting competitions, including traditional games, track and field events, and team games. During the program, winners of these events were felicitated, recognizing their achievements and encouraging them to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Er. Lupalum Kri emphasized the importance of eradicating drug culture and promoting social responsibility among the youth, highlighting the problems faced by the new generation in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly in the Lohit Region.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students of various schools and IGG College Tezu.
