ITANAGAR, Dec 2: The Kharsang Police Station, Changlang District led by Inspector KM Das has been judged the third best police station in the country for the year 2020, based on a survey conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Union Home Minister, Amit Shah virtually presented the trophy in presence of DGP RP Upadhyaya, at the inaugural session of the Annual DGPs/IGPs Conference -2020 here today.
The survey was conducted on several parameters like crime against women, property offences, crime against weaker sections, missing persons, unidentified dead persons. Identification and evaluation of the standard of service delivery and techniques of improvement in policing, maintenance of Police Station & approachability and citizen’s feedback included under the survey.
"Kharsang Police Station was established in the year 1990. Policing in Kharsang Police Station area is a challenging task as there is frequent anti
social elements indulging in extortion activities and thus this is an exemplary achievement by the OC and staff of Kharsang Police Station," an official press communique from the office of Superintendent of Police (Crime), PHQ, stated.
