ITANAGAR, Oct 31: Chief Minister Pema Khandu while attending State BJP’s one-day ‘Training of Trainers’ programme today here at the Siddhartha Hall said that grassroots party workers should deliver the dual responsibilities of remaining updated on ideologies and values besides disseminating among masses the achievements of the present governments, both at the Centre and the State made through the people-centric schemes and programmes.
Reiterating that Arunachal Pradesh is a demographically unique state, Khandu stressed on reinforcing the pan-Arunachal attitude for taking all communities on the path of progress. Underscoring the importance of regular training of BJP workers for the party’s organisational health, Khandu emphasised on the significance of discipline. “We are lucky that we are in a party which is known for its discipline and will be able to serve society only if we live up to our party ideals and values,” the CM asserted. Urging the party workers to compare the work culture of the present government with the earlier ones, he claimed that the difference is clearly visible as the BJP believes in the ideology of ‘country first, party second and individual last’. “Only a party like BJP can change the wheels of fortune in a state like ours. Therefore we need to strengthen our party’s foundation in the state so that Arunachal can progress at a faster pace in the right direction,” Khandu said.
Giving the hint that rural and urban body elections are going to be held soon, the Chief Minister assured that the government will further strengthen the local bodies and will empower them with powers so far denied. “With BJP in power, expectations of the people have soared high and we have no other option but to meet these expectations,” Khandu added.
He also recalled the contributions of the veteran party workers who worked silently while the Congress was in power in the state. CMO
