Itanagar, Dec 9 (PTI): As part of his government’s initiative to bring government services closer to the people, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday inaugurated the new Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) headquarters at Gepen in Kamle district in presence of Home Minister Bamang Felix, local legislator Tarin Dakpe and other dignitaries.
This was followed by laying of foundation stone for establishment of new ADC office building and accommodations for the ADC and other staff members, official sources said here.
“Happy to dedicate a new office of the Addl Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Gepen to the people of Kamle district. The new ADC office inaugurated today will bring government services nearer to the people,” Khandu wrote in his twitter handle.
The Kamle district was created in 2017, fulfilling the long-felt aspirations of the people. “…Happy fulfilling the promises to provide better services to the people,” he said in another tweet.
Later, the Chief Minister handed over the official gazette notification of ADC Gepen to MLA Tarin Dakpe in a public meeting at Gepen. He directed the Deputy Commissioner, Kamle district to send proposal for creation for circle headquarters on an early date, and assured that he will consider them in a phased manner.
The Chief Minister also assured to take up the issue of the proposed Kamle hydropower project with appropriate authority. In his brief speech, Home Minister Bamang Felix while appreciating the peace-loving people of Kamle district, emphasized that political will and public will combined together can bring about development in the infant district.
The Raga MLA also spoke and requested the CM to expedite the following demands: infrastructure development for newly-created ADC HQs, police station at Gepen, construction of stadium with gallery and two-lane township road at Gepen, water supply for Gepen, upgradation of present Health Sub-Center to PHC and Puchigeko CO headquarters to EAC post, creation of CO HQs at Katrijo and Bomri Hapa, and posting of Science teachers in all secondary and higher secondary schools of the district.
Also present on the occasion were MLA cum Chairman APB&OCWWB Nyato Dukam, MLAcum-Advisor to Minister Food & Civil Supplies, Land Management and Civil Aviation, Taniya Soki, Chayangtajo lawmaker Hayeng Mangfi and Kamle DC Adong Pertin, among others, the sources added.
