Pasighat, Sep 18: The state-level ceremony for Kayakalp Awards 2019-20, given by the Union Health Ministry annually as recognition of best medical service facilities in the country on state-wise basis was held here at the state training hall of the National Health Mission (NHM) on September 16 last.
Bakin Pertin General Hospital, Pasighat in East Siang being adjudged the best Kayakalp General Hospital of the state won a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh, while Community Health Centre Ruksin, also in East Siang won Rs 15 lakh for bagging the best Kayakalp CHC award in state. 
Under the district category of Primary Health Centres, Mukto was adjudged the best among all PHCs in Tawang district, PHC Bilat in East Siang, PHC Lazu in Tirap district and PHC Nikte in West Siang district. CHCs in Deomali (Tirap), Kalaktang and Yomcha (West Siang) and Rupa (West Kameng) and  PHCs in Rani (East Siang), Sinchung (West Kameng) and Jeying (Upper Siang)  were given commendation certificates and Rs 1 lakh each as cash award.
Significantly, BPGH also bagged Rs 3 lakh cash award for Labour Room and another Rs 3 lakh for Maternity Operation Theatre under the LaQshya scheme. 
Congratulating the award winners, Mission Director NHM, Dr. Sonal Swaroop urged them to continue their good work and improve the quality of health services not only under Kayakalp, but also for attaining the National Quality Assurance Standards. DDHS, FW Dr Amping Perme while exhorting the winners to maintain their benchmarks, also encouraged all districts to adhere to the standard protocols of cleanliness and infection control and aim for the Kayakalp Awards. 

Kayakalp Award was instituted as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on May 15, 2015 as a national initiative to recognize and felicitate public health facilities that demonstrate high-level cleanliness, hygiene and infection control measures and promote cleanliness in public spaces. NHM PR
