ZIRO, Oct 27: A public meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Kamle, Hengo Basar, was conducted today to sensitise the public regarding TAH viz. Package-III, Package-IV and Package-V.
MLA Raga, Tarin Dakpe implored the public not to put impediments to the highway construction activities. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to immediately constitute a Committee for fair and just dispersal of compensation to the genuine beneficiaries and to collect all the documents in connection with land compensation and TAH from DC, Lower Subansiri.
He further asked the DC to immediately allow the Concessionaire to start formation cutting in the forest area as well as those areas which are encumbrance free.
Any attempt to pressurise and extort from the concessionaire shall be strictly dealt with, he added.
Gyati Anda, EE (Highway) informed that agreements have already been signed by the Concessionaires and the concerned authority but the construction work could not be started due to compensation issues.
Further informing that the compensation money has been sanctioned, he requested the public to extend whole hearted cooperation to the Concessionaire so that construction work can be completed in stipulated time of 36 months. He asked for carrying out a joint survey for utility shifting so as to hand over encumbrance free land to the Concessionaire.
Dr Kapu Sopin, Tap Tapuk, Guchi Tamar, Puri Kan Boa, Maga Apo, Docha Erin, Dinesh Maga, Lampoop Laa and Milli Tanya also participated in the meeting.
They unanimously opined that the compensation should be released immediately and that only genuine beneficiaries should receive fair compensations. They also stressed that the purported beneficiaries from outside the district without structure should not receive compensation.
They further suggested that the construction activity on TAH may be allowed to start in the forest land stretch of TAH. DIPRO
