TAWANG, Mar 30: Community level skill development training under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) which aims to impart skills to the villagers for routine maintenance of drinking water distribution assets concluded here on Monday. Deputy Commissioner, Tawang Sang Phuntsok distributed the training completion certificates to the participants in presence of Executive Engineer PHED, Tawang G.Mize, Dy. Director of Industries Tsering Drema and officials from PHED and Skill Development departments. The training which commenced on March 25 was imparted by the state’s department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in association with Zentek Educational & Welfare Society. Around 59 individuals from different villages of the district were trained in the fields of plumbing. A 3-day training on masonry wherein 30 villagers will be trained was also inaugurated by the DC on the occasion. He urged the PHE department to keep the contact details of all trained and skilled local plumbers, electricians and masons and recommend their names for construction and maintenance works to enable local employment generation. On being requested by the trainees, the DC immediately sanctioned a sum of Rs 20 thousand for purchasing a plumbing tool kit for the trained villagers. DIPRO
