NAHARLAGUN, Nov 23: Information and Public Relations Minister, Bamang Felix, exhorted the officials of Information and Public Relations and Printing department to work harder and beyond the boundaries to educate the entire population of the state on various developmental schemes of the Central and State government.
He said this while reviewing the developmental activities taken up by the department’s two Directorates when he visited Soochna Bhawan here today on his maiden visit after taking over the department for the second time.
Informing that he has good knowledge and experience of the department in his long association during his earlier stints as Parliamentary Secretary and later as the Minister of the Department, Felix said he is fully aware of the many problems and issues in the department and assured to take up some of the key issues and resolve them one by one.
While inspecting the photo archives of the Directorate, the Minister was aghast to find the history of Arunachal Pradesh in the form of decaying photographs. These valuable photos have to be preserved and protected, he said and assured to take it on priority for its preservation through digitization of the photos.
Insisting that the officers of the department should not only be hardworking but need to have new and innovative ideas, he assured to support any innovative scheme in the next budget.
Reviewing the construction status of the Satyajeet Ray Film and Television Institute, (SRFTI) with Director of the Institute, the brainchild of bringing the institute to Arunachal himself after a protracted struggle with other NE states, Felix said, no compromise will be accepted in its quality and infrastructure and asked the agencies to speed up the construction works at the earliest. He however, said certain agreements were made with local land donors which need to be addressed with due respect to their culture and sentiments. He assured to visit the site and discuss the matter in detail with the concerned parties.
Adviser for Information and Public Relations and Printing Department, Laisam Simai, who accompanied the Minister termed the IPR Department as the heart of all departments and every developmental activities are connected to the department.
A missed beat of this heart could jeopardize the entire developmental process of the state, so every stakeholder needs to be very serious and work hard, he suggested. He commended the officers of the Department for successfully taking up various activities for the development of the state.
He assured to extend his fullest support and cooperation in the developmental activities of the department and assured to keep his doors open for every officials of the department.
The Secretary, IPR, NT Glow, also accompanied the Minister and actively took part in the review of the developmental activities of the Department.
Director, IPR Obang Tayeng, Director, Printing Charu Tajuk and other department officials also took part in the review meeting.
