ROING, Jun 27:Over 700 students from various schools participated in the anti drugs procession displaying banners and pamphlets against ill effects of drugs in a mass awareness campaign –cum- rally organized by District Police authority, Roing to mark the International day against drug abuse here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Kr. Sain enlightened the children about the harmful effects of drugs and its adverse impact on society as a whole. He also urged the people to join hands with the police in their untiring efforts to control the menace in the district and requested them to alert the police in case of any information on such activities. He also warned that person indulging in drug peddling or any other related activities will not be spared and stern action will be taken against them.

The programme was attended by DC Deepak Shinde among others.

 

At AALO,

Braving torrential rain, the Mothers Vision, participated by Galo Ane Safai Abhiyan, APWWS West Siang unit, women from sectors and villages took out a procession on the streets of Aalo town to mark International Day against Drug Abuse and Trafficking on Monday.
Addressing the gathering Deputy Commissioner West Siang, Gamli Padu said that drug abuse and trafficking is detrimental to the younger generation and citizens should come together to check its spread.

On the occasion, Vendors Identity Cards for Daily Market Aalo prepared by the district administration were distributed.

At KHONSA,Tirap District Administration under the leadership of DC Ravi Jha, observed the day at headquarters Khonsa on Monday.The day was marked by awareness campaign on drug abuse and its bad impact on health, family and society. Further, students also pledged to stay away from drugs.

Earlier in the morning, more than 500 students took part in the awareness programme organised at Govt. Hr. Secondary School, Khonsa.
