Bomdila, Sep 14: To strengthen the telecommunication service in the West Kameng District, 1st district Level Telecom Monitoring Committee Meeting was held today at the DC’s Conference hall, Bomdila under the chairmanship of  Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki.
While chairing the meeting, Leki urged all the Telecom service Providers (TSPs) to follow the Government’s Guidelines for granting Right of Way Telegraph infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh Rule 2018.
"Internet communication is no longer a luxury, rather it has become a basic necessity for the overall development of society. During Covid-19 pandemic there were certain villages in the district where students could not attend their online classes because of either unavailability or poor internet service," he added.
He asked all the TSPs to visit the unconnected areas for immediate installation of the towers. TSPs should not worry about the less numbers of the subscribers, once they start providing quality service, subscribers will gradually increase, he added.
Before the installation of towers, TSPs should coordinate with all the concerned stakeholders like the power department, PWD etc to place the tower at the correct place without disturbing others. All the necessary support will be provided by the District Administration end to connect each village of the district with internet facility, he said.

Participants TSPs viz. BSNL, Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea also placed their issues before the District Administration.
