Ziro, Dec 3: The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed on December 3 at NGGSS, Tajang, Ziro with the global theme “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress.” The programme was organised by the Department of Education in collaboration with the Department of Women & Child Development (WCD), Lower Subansiri district.
The event was attended by Kocho Jomoh, DDSE; Kago Maya Gyati, Dy. Director (WCD); T.H. Grayu, BEO HQ; Tage Gambo, Principal GHSS Hija; and Hage Tari, Headmaster GSS Hari as special invitees.
Serving as resource persons for the day were Koj Alo and Umesh Kumar (PGT Physics), who delivered insightful sessions on inclusive education, sensitisation and the need for creating accessible learning environments.
The programme witnessed active participation from Tage Opo, BRCC-cum-IE Coordinator; CRCCs Rubu Gyati, Bullo Tatu and Tadu Oppo; Head Master in-charges of various schools, along with teachers and students from across the district.
To make the occasion more vibrant and meaningful, students presented colourful cultural performances, showcasing their talents and promoting the message of inclusivity.
