Aalo, May 11: During the current lockdown period when enforcing the social distancing protocol is really a challenge for the state administration, an innovative idea conceived by a frontline Covid-19 warrior is bringing good results here in SBI Aalo branch.
After finding that regulating the restless SBI customers on a daily basis is practically unsustainable and on being asked by the West Siang District Administration to find out an innovative solution, Dr. Jumge Padu, a frontline Covid-19 warrior responded promptly by erecting a weather-proof social distancing shed with 53 umbrellas in front of the branch with the help of Kibom Old Age Welfare Society in collaboration with M/s International Diagnostic Centre, Aalo on May 10 last.
The shed, regulated by the volunteers of the Society with separate entry and exit facilities for male and female will not only help in maintaining social distancing but also give comfort to the customers. West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan visited the branch and appreciated the efforts of the Society. Dr. Padu while stressing on social distancing norm, said complacency due to ‘green zone’ status should not be given any room.
Posted as a Medical Officer in Yomcha PHC and currently attached to Aalo General Hospital fighting the pandemic, Dr. Padu has been instrumental in imparting hands-on training for making hand-stitched masks to various Self Help Groups to supplement the ‘Mask For All’ campaign by APDA.
He is held in high esteem by the people of the Yomcha administrative sub-division for his dedication in health delivery services, honorary jobs like teaching, promoting budding badminton players and various other social services. DIPRO
