ITANAGAR, May 28: The Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF) has appreciated the state government for its prompt action that led to the arrest of the controversial YouTuber Paras Singh in Punjab and his subsequent transit remand to the state for trial.
In a press release issued today, the confederation of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) of 26 major tribes and more than 100 sub-tribes of the state while thanking the state government, the SIT and the hierarchies of the APP for bringing Paras to Arunachal Pradesh for trial has called for invoking the National Security Act against the YouTuber. Stringent punishment of the culprit is necessary for sending a message to the rest of the country, AITF said. In a controversial video on his YouTube channel Paras  made racial remarks on Congress MLA Ninong Ering and  termed Arunachal Pradesh as part of China. The forum has also acknowledged the efforts of Lok Sabha MP and Union Minister of State Kiren Rijiju and Special Commissioner of Delhi Police and founder-president, 'Helping Hands Society for NER' Robin Hibu for drawing attention at the national level and facilitating prompt action.

While commending the role of Helping Hands Society, the philanthropic organization engaged in extending humanitarian services to the people of the Northeast stationed at various parts of the country at times of distress, AITF has drawn attention of the state government for a greater role in its financing and organisational spread.
