BANDERDEWA, Mar 27 : In an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19 through traditional belief, about a dozen indigenous priests gathered near Banderdewa entry gate today and performed a day-long ritual.
The local priests chanted and prayed to the Almighty to provide healthcare workers and others with sufficient strength and knowledge to fight against the deadly coronavirus in the state and the whole country.
A senior priest said "We have gathered here today to pray to God to save the people of the state from the deadly virus, which originated from China and is spreading across the globe in our own ancestral way to thwart the evil force."
All the priests collectively stated that they are with the state government during this hour of crisis and their prayers are with all those working twenty-four hours in the fight against Coronavirus.
The priests also appealed to the people to stay indoors during the lockdown period and cooperate with the state government.
