ITANAGAR, Nov 30: The First Lady of the state Neelam Misra attended the Taamswr Xinnu (Awareness Programme) ‘Essence of Indigenous Faith and Culture’ organised by Nyishi Nyidung Mwngjwng Rallung (NNMR) at Nyedar Namlo Pachin Colony, Naharlagun today.
Speaking on the occasion, she emphasised on documentation and interpretation of the age-old rituals duly synthesized by the community elders and the scholars of the indigenous faith. She called upon the indigenous faith elders, practitioners, scholars, activists and propagators to move the Indigenous Faith  with the march of time for the benefit of the faith followers.
The First Lady of the State said that in a good society like ours, elders and Indigenous faith scholars must speak up whenever and wherever necessary for the protection and preservation of the Indigenous Faith. She suggested for periodic classes on folk tales, dances, folk songs, and traditional handicrafts for the new generation.
The First Lady, who has been motivating womenfolk of the State towards socio-economic empowerment, advised them to work for financial independence through traditional works like loin loom weaving etc. She exhorted the women to contribute towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat by practicing the local arts and crafts.

She reiterated that COVID Pandemic is not yet over. As mother, daughter and sister, the womenfolk must take initiative in ensuring COVID Appropriate Behaviour - effective use of face mask, frequent washing of hands, social distancing, i.e. ‘Do Gaz Ki Doori’ in society. She also urged them to take anti COVID vaccine, its two doses, at the earliest, without any apprehension of any kind.
Special invitee Er. Tadar Mangku and Yapung Dollo, President NNMR also spoke on the occasion amongst others.
