KHARSANG, Jul 16: Continuing its agitation against GeoEnpro Petroleum Ltd, hundreds of people today joined the indefinite strike called by various organizations near Namchik check gate, Kharsang.
The indefinite strike has been called after the authority of GeoEnpro failed to respond to the demands of the public for reinstatement of 19 of its employees who were terminated during the pandemic lockdown, informed Secretary –Kharsang Circle Unemployed Youth Association.
Despite repeated submission of memorandum and meetings, authority is not interested to heed to our demand, added Jugli while citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advise not to terminate any employee during the pandemic lockdown.
He further stated ‘we will continue our strike till the authority of GeoEnpro gives a concrete solution to our demand and reinstates the 19 employees.'
The indefinite strike has been jointly called by the Changlang District Kharsang Circle Unemployment Youth Association, Tangsa Youth Association, All Changlang Dist Students Union, All Tangsa Students Union, CBOs and PRI leaders
