Aalo, Jul 24: Incessant monsoon rain over the last many days has hit West Siang district hard snapping surface communication at various locations.
The Aalo-Pangin road has been eroded at many points causing heavy vehicles to remain stranded in many places. Only the light vehicles could be given passage after prolonged efforts by the District Administration and road authority. The Aalo-Likabali road is also blocked due to heavy landslides at Everest Point and passage for light vehicles could be managed only on Friday morning. The road is likely to be cleared by Saturday if rain stops to allow restoration works.
The Aalo-Yomcha road at Sii-Kosi is also blocked and clearance works are going on for flow of men and material. DIPRO
