Administration appeals people to remain alert

 

ITANAGAR, Jul 1:

 

Due to incessant rainfall for the last 48 hours, heavy damages to roads, culverts, dwelling houses and other infrastructure etc have been reported in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) under the Capital Complex Itanagar. Reacting immediately to the reports and calls received on the toll free number, the DDMA, ICC alerted all the stakeholders under Capital Complex Itanagar to take prompt actions.

               

Heavy landslide in lobby area was cleared for single vehicular movement by the PWD CD-A. Also the debris accumulated on the way to Jollang and in Division 4 areas, lobby panchali have been cleared by PWD CD-B and PWD CD-A respectively. The settlers residing by the Senki river of Upper valley colony under Chandanagar have been most affected as the river crossed the danger level and caused damages to government and public properties.

Deputy Commissioner ICC Prince Dhawan, along with officials visited the spot and ordered people to evacuate immediately to a safer place or to Gyan Ganga School where a relief camp have been setup temporarily.

                 

The entire portion of road near Dree Ground under NH 415 has been washed away. Till an alternate road is not constructed, traffic movement has been diverted via Jollang with immediate effect.

 

                   

The electric pole near the Barpani bridge is also prone to disaster and it is apprehended that it may cause loss of lives and properties which was jointly inspected by authorities today. Accordingly entry of heavy vehicles has been stopped on the Barapani bridge.

                   

Dhawan and his team visited all the damage sites and asked people to take extra preventive measures to save their lives. And to call EOC for any help or queries which is active 24x7.

                

The administration has further appealed people not to panic and to cooperate to remain safe.
