Itanagar, Oct 5: As per the order of the Commissioner IMC Likha Teji, the veterinary wing of the Itanagar Municipal Corporation has been carrying out stray animal eviction drive since Monday.
The team led by Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Goliath Phil conducted the drive at Itanagar area and he informed that the areas of Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa would be covered in the coming days.
During the drive, a total of 14 numbers of animals were evicted. Dr Phil informed that it is very difficult to carry out the drive owing to traffic congestion in the capital.
The Deputy Commissioner Capital Itanagar Talo Potom has also issued an order directing all the concerned owners to confine their domestic animals like cows, pigs, goats etc at their rearing places, else they may be impounded and disposed off accordingly. The order has also directed the Senior Veterinary Officer IMC to remove/ evict all such stray animals with the help of Police after 5th October within the jurisdiction of IMC. DIPRO
