ITANAGAR, Apr 8: The Indian Medical Association state unit has suggested a set of measures for flattening the curve of Covid-19 spread in the state while also resuming economic activity once the lockdown ends.
Interacting with media, Dr. Kesang Thongdok appreciated the state government's decision to bring back stranded students languishing in the midst of the pandemic in major cities. Dr. Thongdok suggested that the state should be well prepared for the containment, including active surveillance, early detection, isolation & case management and contact tracing to prevent the possible spread of Covid-19 infection. He opined that while transporting back the stranded students from the red-alert areas, government must look into the above-mentioned measures in order to ensure well-being of the frontline fighters and the citizens as a whole.
Additionally, Dr. Thongdok suggested bolstering the state preparedness capacities and equipping the health personnel with required supplies to tackle a possible outbreak of the virus after the lockdown ends. He also suggested that trained personnel should be deputed for early detection and all health officials must be equipped with the necessary protection.
Hundreds of students from Arunachal are currently stranded in major cities across India amid the lockdown. In the Capital Complex, the DA has imposed 144 CrPC restricting gathering of more than 2 people till April 14 every day from 3.30 pm to 8.30 am.
