ITANAGAR, Dec 23: As a part of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2020, a special event titled ‘State S&T Ministers' Conclave’ was organized today through virtual mode wherein Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology, participated from the Innovation Hub studio of capital’s Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre.
APSCS&T has also put a virtual stall at the Mega Expo of IISF 2020 which is situated at the Homi J Bhabha Hall 4, accessible by logging on to https://iisf2020expo.com. The conclave was inaugurated by Union Minister for Science & Technology and Health Dr. Harsh Vardhan. A compendium on the activities of the State S&T Councils for 2019-20 was released by the Minister and a national portal for the Councils was also launched by him.
During the conclave there was a special session on best practices of S&T Councils on the theme ‘Post COVID-19 Livelihood Opportunities- Rebooting the System’ and among the Councils from across the country which were divided into six groups, the Northeastern states were represented by Director-cum-Member Secretary, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology C.D. Mungyak. While highlighting the best practices of the NE states, Mungyak stressed on the need for collaboration among all State S&T Councils through sharing of experiences.
He also highlighted the presence of a large number of innovators in the NE region and stressed on tapping of their potentials through proper scouting.
