Pasighat, May 8: International Human Rights Organization(Arunachal chapter)in collaboration with Pasighat Municipal Corporation, under the banner of "Green Arunachal" began its campaign to make Pasighat, a plastic free district.
According to the IHRO(Arunachal chapter) they had been receiving many  complaints regarding the reckless use of polythene bags and the nuisance it caused towards environmental pollution.
The district administration has already proposed to ban all polythene carry bags.
Today, the team led by IHRO state President Rimo Lollen seized more than 500 kilograms of polythene bags and handed over to the Pasighat Municipal Corporation.
The sole motto of this campaign is to eradicate the nuisance of environmental pollution caused by menace of polythene bags and plastic bottles.
