TAWANG, Apr 1: The Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) for Tawang district was launched today here at the KDS District Hospital simultaneously with the national launch by DC Sang Phuntsok.
The IHIP is based on near-real-time data reporting of all diseases and deaths through an online portal with geospatial/geo-tagging of all sick persons/deaths at villages and will be available at the District Hospital, CHCs, PHCs and health sub-centres. It will strengthen the disease surveillance system at State and Central level for effective prevention of any epidemic/outbreak. District Medical Officer Dr Wangdi Lama, Medical Superintendent Dr N. Namshum and District Surveillance Officer Dr Sangey Thinley were present with other officials during the launch event. Dr Thinley informed that IHIP is going to be a game-changer in disease surveillance system for the district especially for communicable and infectious diseases like Covid-19. Other health programmes and activities will also be integrated gradually into the IHIP.
All specialist doctors, medical officers, HWOs, ANMs, lab technicians, pharmacists and other health workers of the district were trained at the DH ahead of the IHIP rollout. DIPRO
