ITANAGAR, Mar 19: The ongoing tug-of-war between the All Arunachal Contractors’ Welfare Association (AACWA) and the state government continues as the contractors’ body on Thursday pressed for release of all pending bills before the end of current financial year if the state’s financial health is sound, as was officially declared a day earlier.
Reacting to state government’s press statement, AACWA President Nabam Akin Hina stated it as good news for the genuine contractors and government employees. “However, AACWA wants to know why the state government is unable to release one-time payments of even small amounts when the contractors had completed their works as per scheduled time limits,” Hina asked. Questioning the authority’s logic of raising unnecessary queries like First Geo-tag (Hardcopy), he stated that all such geo-tags had already been submitted as per MIS requirements. “Moreover, the association still sticks to its claims that a few schemes sanctioned during the last financial year were not carried forward.
NIT was called after completion of the election process, but now the scheme has been dropped out in RE,” AACWA President claimed.
The association also expressed its concern over disallowing of Financial Concurrence on many schemes like CCI, CMIDF & BE, whereas the state government had already declared coming March 27 as the ending date of the current financial year.
“We stick to our demand for an equal distribution of developmental projects under state government in all the districts of Arunachal Pradesh on the basis of geographical area and population,” stated Hina.
